The world of personal computers came into my life in July 2001 when I decided, after much thought and deliberation, to try my hand at writing a book. It was suggested to me by a friend in Spain, Barbara Pérez MBE, a published author herself, who had listened many times to my stories about travelling in America – the places I'd been and the people I'd met. So, with the book idea firmly placed in my mind I started to make notes and scribbled my memories on paper. After a short while, having suffered aches and pains from continuous handwriting, I decided to invest in a computer and it wasn't too long before I began 'surfing the net' to look for sites of some of the country music stars I had met over the years. During this searching period I became aware that one person I had admired for many years did not have a website – and that was Nashville based singer/songwriter, Jimmy Payne. I immediately contacted him at his home in Music City and asked his permission to start the official Jimmy Payne website. He agreed, and because of my interest and enthusiasm having worked on Jimmy's site, I decided to produce my own. So, in a nutshell, there you have it – a little insight as to how, and why, this website got off the ground in the first place - so the man to blame is Jimmy Payne!
